It’s hard to believe but May 2019 marks 20 years that we’ve been sharing Star Wars tattoos with the world. It all started with “Shane’s Archive,” a small section on the now defunct WampaShit and Jawa Force website which eventually became www.tattoosandtoys.com – the first website ever dedicated to showcasing Star Wars and other nerdy tattoos. That website grew to showcase hundreds of tattoos and attracted tens of thousands of visitors a month. From there came our participation with Lucasfilm at the Star Wars Celebration conventions where we opened their eyes to the growing popularity of this aspect of fandom. Long before geeky tattoos became the mainstream and popular trend that they are, we were laying the groundwork. Long before click bait sites like Buzzfeed even existed and long before industry magazines even cared about the subject, we were helping to make what was once a niche part of both tattoo and nerd culture something to be celebrated.

Through websites and books and art shows and conventions and interviews and more, we have been there from the outset. We helped break the ground. And we’ve done it all because it’s something we love. It’s something we’ve always believed in. We’ve done it for the camaraderie and friendship and the adventure. It’s been an amazing 20 years and i’m incredibly grateful for everything and everyone that have come into my life because of it. Thank you.
